In Windows 8 you just need to move the mouse cursor on top of the screen and then drag-n-drop the app thumbnail to the bottom of the screen and it will close the running app permanently. But in windows 8.1 if you do this it will not close the app permanently. The app will continue run in system background. So the question is how to close apps permanently in windows 8.1. Yah its very easy, just follows these steps…
1. Move your cursor top of the screen as you used to do in windows 8.1.
2. Drag the app thumbnail to the bottom of the screen “But Do Not” release the cursor, keep the app thumbnail on bottom and wait for a while. The thumbnail will change into original app icon and now release it. The app will permanently close.
