“Profile Error Occurred-Your preference can not be read” I am getting this error since last week, first I thought it will be fix reinstalling the chrome, but the error not fix even after reset and reinstall the chrome, finally I took serious action on this issue, I have tried two method and its fix my chrome issue perfectly, hope this will also fix your issue, so let see how to solved this issue.
1. Open run command type “%appdata%” select “AppData” click on “Local-Google-Chrome-User Data-Default” in the bottom you will find “Web data” and “Web Data-Journal” select the both and delete it, now check your chrome browser, if the error still not fix than try the second method.
2. Again open the run command type “%appdata%” select “AppData” click on “Local-Google-Chrome-User Data” now select and delete “Local State” hope this will fix your issue.
