“PowerPoint can’t play the audio file < mp3>. Make sure that this is a .wav audio file and that audio setting are properly configured for your system” this error message will occur when you try to insert any type audio file format, PowerPoint only accepts the .wav audio format, so in simple word we need to convert mp3 or any other file format into .wav, than only PowerPoint accept the audio file, you can try online audio convert to .mav or offline software, first convert audio file into .wav format than insert the sound in to PowerPoint slide, hope this will fix your issue.
